Queen of the Ladies of the Evening, Rocky Bar, Idaho Territory.
The SS Atlantic, with her three sister ships, joined the Atlantic Sea passenger trade as the newest in luxury, steel hulled steam ships, still with their masts and sails. This is a story of true Destiny of both passengers and the mighty ship. As predecessor to the RMS Titanic, the White Star Liner crashed on the rocks of Nova Scotia becoming the greatest non-military ship disaster in history. The story of the Atlantic follows her destiny from construction to demise along with passengers whose destiny was created by changing events. This is a story of heroism by an Anglican Priest, the horror of the survivors and the lives lost. Of a crew’s negligence creating the ultimate catastrophe. You need to experience this voyage from the safety of your book, listen to the voices of survivors and feel the loss of all the women and children save one.
The Guy who wrote them

I was swatted into this world by a mid-wife in Mountain Home, Idaho April 20, 1933. It was the depression years in our country, there were no hospitals, a town doctor and you learned survival at an early age. Growing up in the home of the Elmore County Sheriff during WWII, my childhood was filled with the concerns and traumatic events that the war effort brought to our town. While in college my draft notice was in the mail, so I joined the US Air Force during the Korean War. I returned to serve in law enforcement. It was during this time in 1958 my book Destiny’s Voyage was born. It was my mother’s desire to have the story of her grandparents pioneering from England. My great grandmother died in 1959 as I was setting out to record her story. Eventually the project was set aside for several years. In 1964 I joined an independent claim adjusting company in Boise, Idaho. In 1967 I moved to Alaska. Over the next 45 years I would do occasional research on the book. I made business trips to England, so I was able to research events on that side of the Atlantic. Destiny was released in 2006 and reprinted in 2009. Peg Leg Annie was close to home as it is centered in the mining camps of Elmore County, Idaho where I spent my youthful summers. I heard the stories of Annie from my uncle and Rocky Bar’s resident “old timer” Charlie Sprittles throughout my youth. I was shown the bullet holes she made in the saloons with her pistol. Her stories fascinated me and when a new book was in my desires, I chose the character of my youth. Annie was a famous woman of her time, and her story has never received the treatment she deserved. This is the first book written about Annie after hundreds of articles over many years.

My Pledge
I shall always write Non-Fiction stories so that my readers can distinguish clearly between the story’s factual writing and the narrative fictionized part used to move the story along. To do otherwise would be to break faith with my readers and I would no longer deserve their trust.
