Author: Bob Love

I arrived in 1933 by a midwife in Mountain Home, Idaho. My Mom, I am told, was there too. She said I was hatched. I grew up in the mountains of Elmore County with the Sheriff as my father and a loving mother and a kid brother. I graduated high school in Lewiston, Idaho after which I attended the University of Washington and University of Idaho before the draft chased me into the USAF during the Korean War. I served with the Boise, Idaho City police, Chief of Police in Nyssa, Oregon and came back to Boise as a detective at the Ada County Sheriff's office. My final move was up the winter frozen Alcan Highway with my family in tow where I spent the next 45 years as an independent insurance claims adjuster and marine surveyor. As a pilot, I specialized in aviation accidents and safety programs as well as the commercial fishing industry, ship's cargo, commercial property, and casualty. In 1989 Exxon's Luxemburg insurer commissioned me to handle all cleanup claims arising from the Exxon Valdez Oil spill in Alaska. I started "Destiny's Voyage" in 1956 but did not get to the serious writing until 2002 when I retired to take care of Bev, my best friend, wife, and business partner who did see the book's completion before passing in 2007. In 2008 I began research of "Peg Leg Annie." In 2013 I moved back to Boise upon discovery that childhood girl and playmate Patricia in the ghost town of Featherville, Idaho was also widowed and alone. After 67 years of not knowing about each other we joined forces and now care for each other. She said, "Yes I remember you, what girl ever forgets the boy who gave her first kiss." She was nine and I was twelve. Now we live in Boise, Idaho with our Bishon, Murphy. "Peg Leg Annie" was completed over the past five years with Pat's support.
